About

Australian housing intelligence, built for clarity

HousingIntel is an independent Australian housing and construction intelligence platform designed to make complex market data easier to understand. It provides free public access to visualised ABS housing statistics, construction industry data, population and migration analysis, mortgage lending trends, property price data, and macroeconomic conditions — all in one place.

The platform aggregates public datasets from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Department of Home Affairs, NCVER, and industry reporting, presenting them in a form designed for fast interpretation rather than raw data analysis. Rather than isolated charts or headlines, HousingIntel focuses on context — connecting population growth, migration, construction capacity, workforce shortages, finance conditions, investor activity, and broader economic forces into a coherent picture of where the Australian housing market actually stands.

Ten data dimensions are currently tracked across the platform: housing supply, construction workforce, land supply, population and migration, migrant housing, mortgage finance, macroeconomic conditions, property prices, permanent residency processing, and a live market pulse updated monthly from current releases.

Jacob is a Perth-based contractor and business owner with hands-on construction industry experience spanning over 100 residential projects. HousingIntel was built to combine that ground-level industry perspective with data analysis and research — creating a platform that reflects how housing actually gets built, not just how it's discussed in policy circles. The goal is simple: provide clearer signals from official data, without the noise.

Data sources: All data is sourced from publicly available information including ABS releases (CC BY 4.0), RBA statistical tables, Department of Home Affairs reports, NCVER, and industry publications. Private sector data (CoreLogic, SQM Research, ANZ, NAB) is sourced from public media releases and attributed accordingly.

No financial or legal advice: HousingIntel does not provide financial, investment, property, or legal advice. All content is for informational and educational purposes only. Data may be lagged or subject to revision by the original provider.
